Preparation Roadmap

Follow these steps to prepare systematically

Week 1

Choose Your Subject

Pick one: Physics (IPhO), Chemistry (IChO), Biology (IBO), or Astronomy (IOAA). Focus on what excites you most.

Week 2-8

Master School-Level Concepts

Complete NCERT thoroughly. For Physics — HC Verma; Chemistry — JD Lee basics; Biology — Campbell Biology intro chapters.

Week 6-16

Study Olympiad-Level Material

Physics: Irodov, Krotov. Chemistry: Atkins, Clayden. Biology: Campbell, Alberts. Go deep into problem-solving.

Week 14-18

Clear NSEP/NSEC/NSEB (Stage 1)

This is the screening round. Solve past NSEP/NSEC/NSEB papers. Focus on conceptual MCQs and time management.

Week 18-24

Prepare for INO (Stage 2)

INO is subjective and much harder. Practice derivations, proofs, and long-answer problems. Join study groups.

Week 24-30

OCSC & International Prep

If selected for Orientation Cum Selection Camp at HBCSE, prepare with past international olympiad problems.
